Local Hospice Care in Illinois Should Be Comfortable & Meaningful

Hospice doesn’t mean death is at your doorstep. Even with a serious condition, life can still go on. Hospice is about making the remaining time, and ultimately the transition, as comfortable, peaceful, and supported as possible. At Orion Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. in Morton Grove, IL, care is delivered wherever you are, almost always at no cost to you. Orion works with you to create a personalized and customized care plan.

Medical Care

Our medical director oversees all aspects of care and guides the team. Furthermore, our registered nurses directly manage the patient's care and deliver comfort through expert pain and symptom management. Our certified nursing assistants also help with personal needs such as bathing, feeding, and more.

We want to ensure you have everything you need, so we deliver specialized medications for pain or symptoms related to the hospice diagnosis and high-quality medical supplies directly to you. Our equipment specialists deliver durable medical equipment (DME), such as hospital beds and oxygen, directly to you and set everything up, explaining everything you need to know. We know that care needs can arise anytime, so our staff is available and on-call anytime, day or night. We are here to support you in any way we can.

Emotional and Social Care

Our social workers are always here to provide emotional support and lend a listening ear to guide you and your loved ones through every step of the transition journey. Our compassionate team will ensure you have the support you need throughout this difficult time.

You can rest assured that our chaplains offer spiritual support and counseling to help you and your family. We understand the importance of faith and spirituality, and our chaplains are always available to provide the support and guidance you need.

We respect all faiths, and our spiritual care is available to you no matter what your beliefs may be. We have clergy of all religions ready to provide your spiritual support and guidance.

Dedicated volunteers are here to provide company, conversation, and a helping hand whenever you need it. We understand that sometimes you need someone to talk to or for some helpful assistance, and our volunteers are always ready to help.

Ongoing Family Support

At Orion, we understand that the hospice journey can be challenging for patients and their loved ones. That's why our staff works hand-in-hand with family members throughout the journey. Our compassionate nurses provide education and guidance about ongoing caregiving, disease progression, and the transition process. Our social workers arrange community services and other resources, help with end-of-life arrangements, and provide emotional support. We also offer respite care, which gives loved ones of home-based patients relief from caregiving while the patient enjoys a brief stay at a partner care facility.

Bereavement Services

After the patient's passing, our bereavement team provides 12 months of emotional support, companionship, and assistance to bereaved families, significant others, and/or caregivers. We offer support groups and memorial services to help families through this difficult time. At Orion, we are committed to providing comprehensive care every step of the way.
